When booking an experience at The Sauna Wānaka through our website and in person, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read through it carefully

Sauna Terms

  1. If you are new to The Sauna Wānaka, please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled session time, and for existing clients, please arrive at least 5 minutes before your scheduled session time. We cannot extend session times or bookings to accommodate late arrivals and will begin the sauna rounds on time.

  2. Please factor in getting to the booked location and allow time for parking. You can find directions and our location on our Getting Here page.

  3. Please ensure you check in with our friendly team when you arrive.

  4. Payment must be made at the time of booking. To avoid disappointment, you must book before arriving.

  5. The Sauna Wānaka reserves the right to alter prices and services without notice.

  6. The booking cut-off time is 200 minutes before any one session time. If there are no participants booked in advance into a session, we reserve the right to cancel that session due to the required sauna heating time.

  7. Clients acknowledge that they use The Sauna Wānaka facility and engage in our experiences at their own risk. The Sauna Wānaka will not be held responsible for any damages, injury, or death at or as a result of using our facility.

  8. Using the sauna may result in dehydration, heat exhaustion, or other related risks. The users will be advised to stay hydrated; however, it is the client’s responsibility to recognise their limits when in hot and cold extremes.

  9. By confirming your booking, you agree that you will not be under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs while using The Sauna Wānaka facilities. We will refuse entry on this basis every time. No alcohol or drugs are to be consumed in the sauna or at our site

  10. Please ensure you are in good physical and mental health to put your body under the stress of hot and/or cold extremes. If unsure, please contact The Sauna Wānaka to discuss your concerns.

  11. At the time of booking, you are acknowledging that you do not have any physical or psychological conditions which would place you at additional risk to participate. These include (but are not limited to) pregnancy, hypertension (high blood pressure), vertigo, diabetes, respiratory, and heart conditions. The Sauna Wānaka reserves the right to decline bookings for medical reasons

  12. It is the client’s responsibility to discuss any pre-existing health conditions and/or medications with a medical professional before participating in The Sauna Wānaka facilities. Please notify a team member before your session about any conditions.

  13. The Sauna Wānaka will not be held accountable for damaged or lost property brought to the facility. This is stored at the client’s risk.

  14. Swimming in the nearby lake/river is not part of The Sauna Wānaka offerings and is completely at the client’s risk. You agree to use a buddy system when doing cold immersion/swimming in any body of water.

  15. Any manner deemed abusive or harassing to other clients, staff, or our beautiful surrounding environment will result in the refusal of entry immediately. In the event of this occurring, any payment made will not be refunded.

  16. Prices, products, and offers include GST and are charged in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).

  17. All concession passes are non-transferable. If multiple people use a concession pass, that concession will be canceled immediately. Photos must be loaded for each concession pass holder and will be checked when you sign into each session.

    Cancellation Policy

  18. Please give us as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule your booking.

  19. Here is the cancellation policy for each experience:

    Scheduled group sessions: No refund is given with less than 72 hours notice. You can cancel up to 12 hours before your session for a credit on your account. Please get in contact if you cancel your session between 12 and 24 hours before the start time - the system will only automatically credit accounts that were canceled more than 24 hours in advance, and we will need to credit you manually.

    Private sessions: No refund is given with less than 72 hours notice. You can cancel up to 48 hours before your session for a credit on your account.

    At Your Place: 14 days or more notice is required for a full refund. 7-14 days is a 50% refund, less than 7 days and no refund is given.

    Special Events: All bookings are final for breathwork and special events. Please get in touch for compassionate circumstances.

  20. The Sauna Wānaka reserves the right to cancel sessions in the event of unsuitable weather or natural disasters. In this case, the customer will be notified via text message a minimum of one hour before their confirmed session time, and your account will be credited.

  21. All sales of casual passes and multi-passes are final, and no refunds will be given to unused credits. Please note the use period of the pass that will be listed on the Memberships page.

    Payments

  22. The Sauna Wānaka is not responsible for additional bank fees that you may incur from your bank. Bank fees are under the terms and conditions of contractual agreements that lie between you and your bank.

    Gift Cards

  23. Gift cards may be purchased online. Gift cards are not redeemable for cash. Gift cards are not transferable.

  24. The Sauna Wānaka does not offer refunds, transfers, suspensions, or extensions on Gift Cards for change of mind, injury, illness, or any other reason. All purchases are final.

    Concession Passes & Products

  25. Concessions have an expiry date, evident on the date of purchase.

  26. The Sauna Wānaka does not offer refunds, transfers, suspensions, or extensions on 5 or 10 passes for change of mind, injury, illness, or other reasons.

  27. Any late cancellations or no-shows will result in forfeiting that visit as per our cancellation policy.

  28. All concession passes are non-transferable. If multiple people use a concession pass, that concession will be canceled immediately, with no refund given. Photos must be loaded for each concession pass holder and will be checked when you sign into each session.

  29. All product sales (such as towels and hats) are final for hygiene reasons. All sales are final, and there are no refunds if you change your mind. We will honor any manufacturing faults under the Consumer Guarantees Act.

  30. For members enjoying the benefits of our Unlimited pass, The Sauna Wānaka reserves the right to apply full charges for sessions cancelled within six hours of the booked session or for no-shows.
